Given everything that's happened, does anyone here think that Donald Trump should go to jail over what happened on Capital Hill the other day?  Should Mike Pence take over the presidency effective immediately until Joe Biden can be sworn in as president?  Or do you think that will only make it worse?

He should, but he wont. Giuliani "trial by combat" should too.

Honestly I think putting Trump in jail will only make him a martyr at this point.    While I can see both sides of this situation, I do think that both democrats and republicans need to come to together to resolve this to the best of their ability, or I'm worried that there could more bloodshed over this election, which I'm sure most rational people don't want to see happen obviously.

I watched the first part of the rally, I found Donald Jr to be very much inciting the crowd. As I watched Trump I could see he also was inciting the crowd. His demeanor was different than his typical rally demeanor. I turned it off halfway through and told my husband, there will be trouble today,

In my opinion, he should shoulder much of the blame for the riot, two deaths have occurred... I do not know the law in regards to arresting him for inciting a riot.  However, he should be removed now. IMO it will see more violence either way. IT is not prudent to leave him in power. Mike Pence can step in until they can swear Biden in.

Trump should be immediately removed from office and indicted for inciting violence that resulted in death and destruction.  A bonus would be seeing him carted off in a straitjacket.

At the end of the day, all Trump accomplished after the election was dividing his own base, and lose any hope he had to run again in 2024 honestly.   While I can see both sides to this, there was no reason for anyone to die the other day like they did.  If I was a Trump supporter, and I found out about this, I would feel ashamed honestly, and guilty over what happened.  I can only hope Trump feels the same as he should.  No leader should ever put his own pride and ego over the lives of the people that follow him.

If Trump can't see that, then he never will. I always found the claims comparing Trump to other tyrants to be far fetched in the past, and largely made up, but after the other day, he deserves whatever criticism he gets from this point forward in my opinion.
