    Hey there everyone,

I'm new to HubPages and have written two posts that have gotten unpublished because they didn't pass the QAP. I've updated them since to meet Hubpages' standards but they still were unpublished. I'd love some feedback on how I can improve these to meet HubPages' standards. Here are the links (please let me know if they don't work):

    Thank you so much!

Unfortunately the links you provided don't work. I may be wrong, but I think that the rejection email you got has a link that you can use to link to the unpublished article. If you re-post the link I would be happy to have a look and see if I can offer some advice.

Heyy! Thanks for responding. These were the links in the rejection email. I noticed on the forum others had a link ending with "hubview" but I don't know how to get that for these posts. Any ideas?

I tried adding ?hubview to your links but I am still getting an error page. Sorry, I am stumped. Try emailing hubpages and asking them how you can link to an unpublished hub.

Yes! Would you happen to know what their email address is? I've only come across a phone number.

Even though I can't see your articles, there is one problem that is clear from your first post.  You refer to your writing as "posts".  We don't write posts here.  We write in-depth magazine style articles of at least 1,000 words.  I'm guessing that your "posts" were rejected because they were short blog posts.

HubPages is not a blogging platform.  It is like an online magazine with strict content rules.  If you want to start a blog, try Blogger or WordPress.  Both can be monetized.

        Heyy,

Thanks for responding. That's my bad. I usually refer to my online writing as posts. But these articles are about 800-900 words (the guidelines said between 750-1200), and I've tried to make them quite comprehensive. I am still trying to figure out a way to make them visible to you guys, but I would appreciate your feedback when I do.

Do you have outbound links pointing to specific businesses?

            Heyy,

I have outbound links to content I found informative within the context of the articles, but they are not product pages or promoting specific products—more like guides. But I think I might have 1-2 that go to a business' blog.

For example, one link is a research paper put together by a business, and I wanted to highlight a significant statistic so linked to the research paper as a way of citing the source. Do you think that could be an issue even if it is not promotional?

I can't say for sure without seeing your hub. But it sounds like you have too many outbounds.

The "research" might be informative but the link itself is still a backlink to that particular site. Hubpages dislikes and forbids this. Especially if the information is not unique and the publishing site is not an acknowledged authority.

Ah, I see. I only had about 4-5 links in there, but I guess the fewer the better? I thought linking out to other helpful resources would be good. I took a few out and re-published the articles. Can you see if you can access them now? Would love your input.

Also, about the score the articles are assigned—do you know what score we need to get them published?

                Thanks!

I'm going to be very frank.

I read your customer preference hub. Firstly, the links are better if placed at the end of the hub as a "References" section.

Secondly, you linked "follow the sun model" to a commercial service. This is promotional. It is promotional because that site is not an authority or  the exclusive source of information for this model.

To repeat, HP doesn't allow this. If your intention is to explain the model, then you should link to research sites, business journals, etc. Not a company out of many similar companies. The editors will immediately assume you are backlinking when you link to companies this way.

As for the hub score, it baffles most of us. But I see it as a general indication of how well the hub is doing.

Ah, that makes sense. I'll take that link out. I also like the idea of having a reference section. If it's not too much trouble, could you have a look at the other one as well? That one has a lower score than the customer preference hub. Thanks a lot!

Have you already resubmitted both and received rejection? How could it be that fast?

No no. The rejection was before our discussion. Right now they are published but have the pending icon. And one is on Discover, it seems.

Have you resubmitted for a second evaluation? If so and if it's pending, it means you have to wait for responses.

If one is on Discover, it should mean it passed QAP. However, I don't see this in your profile.

            This is what I see: https://discover.hubpages.com/technolog … ing-secure
And the only option I had, after editing it, was to publish. So now it says it's published in the Status column and pending in the Featured column. So it might be unpublished later if it does not qualify for the Featured section — that happened earlier.
