Facebook Group Giving Wrong Preview

    Not sure whether this is a Dengarden or Facebook problem.

    The title is "Lawn Mower Won't Start?: The Ultimate Repair Guide".

    Maybe a problem with the metadata in the HTML? I searched for a fragment of the title Facebook is showing, but it doesn't appear in the HTML, so it must be a Facebook problem. Not much chance of getting that fixed though because Facebook doesn't have user support.

      You can sometimes get around this issue by sharing the image link first and the article link directly under it in the same post. I'm unsure if this solution still works, but you can try.

        Ok, thanks Matt. I'll try that. Strangely this is only happening on one group I've checked and I've tried posting multiple times in case it was a glitch. On another group the preview is correct and I think Fscebook normally updates or used to update previews when websites change. (Sometimes posts say that content isn't available and the preview is missing, which seems to confirm this)

    I edited the post and removed the preview image that Facebook adds. Then I saved the post so that it just displayed the link. Next I edited it again and Facebook put the preview back in again. This time it was correct. Then I saved the post. The "og:title" was wrong when I had previously examined the link in the Meta sharing debugger. But I rescraped the link and it seemed to fix this parameter so maybe that was something to do with it.
