Can I do this without ads?

I was just wondering if I am writing a hub on a certain topic and need to give a website address for informational purposes (as opposed to making any money from it) if there is a way to do it without it being commercial. As most of you know, I don't do the commercial hubs with the ads but I do understand that to link to any site outside of HP, it has to be listed commercial, therefore allowing ads.

Here is an example of what I am asking. Let's say I was writing a hub on starting your own business (NOT what I am going to write about LOL). In the hub, it is useful to refer them to the small business administration. Rather than putting in a link capsule to make it clickable, can I simply mention that they could get great info at www.sba.org in the article, rendering the url unclickable? I simply want to know if I can give them the site for info without having to put ads on my hubs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I must admit I did not know that and that I am learning from you. The link www.sba.org to http://www.firstplace.com/ is already active just as it will in your hub. If you must give a link that is not active maybe you can say ww.sba.com hoping that your readers can spot the missing "w" and correct accordingly.

In the hub, the www doesn't activate it. I have seen many people put these links in a hub and it not be active. Heck, I wouldn't even think that we'd actually need the www because if we just put sba.org or whatever, most people who are on the web know to use the www if it is even necessary. In my browser, I don't even have to use it. I just type in where I want to go LOL. I am only asking to be sure that I don't violate any TOS rules or something. If I get it deleted, it won't help anybody LOL.

I don't think it will be a problem to have an active link to sba.org on a non-commercial hub.  We classify links into commercial and non-commercial categories based on the domain they link (and on patterns of linking that we see to that domain).  If a link in a non-commercial hub does happen to run afoul of our rules, all that will happen is that the hub will be unpublished and you'll have a chance to fix it and republish.

    Thanks, Paul!

This is good to know! I don't do promotional hubs so I don't have to worry about it being commercial sites. I rarely even post a link at all LOL. This helps so much and I appreciate it!
