   2009 when I first joined Hub-pages seems like a lifetime ago.
   
   I am so very grateful to those who worked to keep this website running and for all those who have been writing here. I cannot fully express how much this experience, over the last 16 years has meant to me. The community here helped me grow, sustained my love and need for writing and ultimately, it has enriched my life.
   
   I never cared to make a penny here. I was just genuinely happy to meet people (some who I have met personally by travelling to the US, the Isle of Man and India), to read their work and to engage in discussions (even the quite heated ones).
   
   This is a bitter-sweet moment. It is sad to leave but at the same time I am so very grateful for the opportunity to write here and to be part of this community. Off to Substack and new adventures.

      Mr. Happy?  I actually made more money here on the HubPages writing platform than I did over on the Hive writing platform (PEAKD.com), but that was because I'm more of a writer than a cryptocurrency expert.  If I was more versed in cryptocurrency, I probably would have been one of the heavy hitters over on Hive.  It's sad to see HubPages finally closing down shop.  After I joined Infobarrel so many years ago, it didn't really bother me that they folded shortly thereafter inasmuch as I never really did much on that writing platform.  To be quite accurate, I only posted one comment to an article but never anything else on Infobarrel.  Here on Hubpages, I've actually gotten to know quite a few people and their viewpoints on interesting topics.  I joined HubPages back in 2016, so when they finally vanish from the Internet forever, it will have been an entire decade that I have been on this same writing platform.  It's almost like that melancholic feeling that you get whenever a family of friendly neighbors moves far away after so many years.
