Talk to God, call the girl friend and bore her to death, plan to rob a bank, slip into  headmaster's office to pinch his wand etc

I catch up with my favorite TV shows on Hulu.com!

I try to stay offline when I get insomnia - it's too easy to get sucked in for hours and hours.

That's the best, most creative use of your time, and I think lack of sleep gets you into sort of an altered state of conciousness which is good for creative writing.

When I can't sleep I read or write.
Sometimes just dream listening to favourite music - nothing special, just spending time.

    Addicted to hubpages lately big_smile

Watch TV, read, write, listen to music.  All of those things usually help me to sleep.  If all else fails I usually take an Advil PM or something like that.

I watch TV or go online. It's a great time to get some writing done.

I can't sleep without noise of some kind, so I either fall asleep listening to music or with a dvd on my pc. If I've switched my pc off then I don't turn it back on again. When I had trouble sleeping as a kid my mum would always tell me to just relax and not stress out about the fact I couldn't sleep. Strangely enough that actually helps sometimes!

Can't remember the last time I couldn't sleep.  On the other hand, working through the night is normal for me, so as long as I get some rack time somewhere in any give 36 hour period, I figure I'm good to go.

I get out of bed and go look at the couch. Don't know what it is about the couch but I take one look at it and my eyes start rolling into the back of my head. Now I can sleep.

I read books or sometimes watch TV for about an hour.  Then I go back to bed and try to sleep again.  Everybody needs rest.

I just do things. Often I write. There are many reasons why one can not sleep. If it is because you have things on your mind...air them via paper or computer. If your body just isn't comfortable get up and stretch out on the floor. If you have an upset stomach drink some almond or soy milk and tell your self not to eat so late next time. If you are lonely it seems you all found the answers to take care of that. If you can't sleep it is not time for bed is the way I look at it.
