    If two similar things naturally gravitate to one another and dissimilarity creates distance and space.....

    Can "Like attracting Like" be the secret to finding your soul mate, creating great wealth, discovering new ideas and even fixing your body . .

    Today, be what you want!

      I always thought that "opposites attract". smile Familiarity breeds complacency. Finding someone similar to me in certain areas (e.g. work ethic, love of travel and people, etc.) is nice, but being able to experience new things through their eyes is equally as exciting, if not more so. I don't know, maybe we're saying the same thing. smile

        I do believe we are saying the same thing.. . what you like is what you should attract. . for example . . learning new things from another is something you like (so do I ) so thats something we should attract.

      I get what your saying wavegirl22-

      I do think 'like attracts like.'
      Since this thread took a turn towards'relationships'- look at it like this:

      If you are the type of person who has a cynical outlook on life and a negative attitude-that is what you'll attract.

      In the case of relationships-this goes deeper than 'opposites attract.' For example, lets say a liberal minded person who is vocal about their beliefs finds themselves attracted to a staunch conservative. That's totally opposite right? Unless you take the larger picture into consideration, they are both opinionated people who love to talk politics. See the 'like attracts like' at play? "Opposites attract" is sort-of a cliche, WaveGirl22, you are on to something bigger. smile

      When it comes to wealth, new ideas, fixing your body, it works the same way. If you sit and cry that you have no money, are fat, boring whatever (lol) that's where you will stay. By making little changes each day, towards what you want to become, it will happen. For Christians, 'as you sew, so shall ye reap', for Pagans, the law of three-fold return, others believe in Karma, whatever it is, its a powerful force.

    I think there are two "ends of the stick":
    1. Complete opposites attract each other - like good girls, bad boys and vice versa;
    2. Similar characters attract each other - and most of the times get into long term relationship. Normally these are people of more or less the same temperament, education, values, etc.

    Middle of the road normally does not work here, as much as I've noticed.

    My husband and I are totally different. He is so laid back he is almost comatose, while I am very opinionated and higher strung.
    We have been together 27 years and married 21.

      Especially in people, because it's the positive energy a person has that attracts the negative thinking person. lol
