Hi, Chitra. Your poem is interesting. It is true that opposites attract each other.
There is positive and negative energy in electricity which combined lights the bulbs and runs engines.
I was scared of social gatherings and my wife was socially active making friends and helping the needy women. So, I too became social and interacted freely.
Thank you Venkatachari ji for sharing my poem in the forum.
I am glad that you agree with the theme of the poem. Good to know about the compatibility of you and your wife. It’s really appreciable, how husband and wife adapt and adjust with each other.
Thank you once again.
Thanks Venkatachari for sharing Chitrangada's poem. It is always fun to read her creativity in prose.
Thank you Peggy for your kind words. Happy to publish after a long time on HubPages.
Hope things would improve here.
Best wishes and thank you.
I love this poem, Chitrangada. Yes, opposites often do attract. My wife and I are opposites in many ways but have been together for 42 years … we make it work
Hello John,
So nice to know about you and your wife.
I agree with you that opposites become compatible, if there is mutual respect and understanding. Wishing you both many more years of togetherness.
Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.
Hi, John. I admire your lengthy married relationship. It was same with me. Even though we used to disagree and fight often, we were together for 38 years until her death in 2012.
Hello Chitrangada,
I loved your poem. I would say that all of the people that I was ever attracted to had many characteristics that were opposite to mine and my spouse is a techie and I certainly am not. I would say that I’m definitely more imaginative than he is. I think it is good as he has challenged me to expand my knowledge in the areas he is adept at and I think I cultivate an interest in subjects that he knows little about. It’s interesting but there maybe some survival benefit in this and maybe that’s why we are attracted to opposites! Thank you for your very witty and charming poem that so beautifully expresses this attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Hello Lora,
So good to read your insightful comments.
I agree with your observations. Mostly the opposites, especially if they are couple, they learn from each other. Together they grow with a positive approach towards life and it’s many challenges.
Appreciate you for reading and sharing your thoughts and experiences.
Thank you so much and my best wishes to you.
Lovely thoughts Chitrangada! My husband and I are polar opposites too:-). We do have our share of disgreements and arguments but that's what makes married life interesting I suppose.
Thank you Anupama for reading and agreeing with me on this topic.
Same is true about me and my husband—-.
You said it right— ‘—- that’s what makes married life interesting—.’
Thank you and happy weekend.
