Editing Nightmares

I am really having trouble editing now, and I'm getting loads of messages that say "please report this error to hubpages via feedback" but I thought I'd just report it here.
I know about that glitch where, if you open the text capsule to edit and it's not properly formed, nothing you change or add will save, and you'll have to keep opening and opening and opening and opening and opening and opening until the box finally renders properly and you can edit.
But today, even when its opened properly nothing is saving. And I do mean nothing. Its making me nuts!!!
Am using Firefox's latest version (which sucks royally, IMO, so maybe it's a Firefox problem -- but usually I don't have this many problems editing here) and am on a mac.
PS --- Do you think you could post announcements for when the site will be down for upgrades? It could be frustrating to be just about to publish and then click and see that the site is down and you have to start all over again.I knew you were going to say that.......................
I don't think it's that, though. I close and restart Firefox all the time (cos it sucks), but this editing problem is the first one I've seen like it. It was really awful!
Can hubpages be made to work with Safari? Mac users seem to only have FF as an option, its a PITA.
What about the scheduled maintenance question....?

Problems editing all day long
Boy, it took me several hours to write one hub today. The edit and save-edit functions have been a pain in my rump all day. I can't figure out any particular pattern, just that a lot of times when I go to save an edit, the save doesn't work and my hub goes pale - cannot click...

Has anyone having problems editing their hubs in the last few hours?
I just tried to update an older hub and found I couldn't change anything. Then I tried to edit a new hub that isn't quite ready to publish. Same thing. What's going on?

Editing Hub
Hello there,New problem occured, I cannot edit my hub only delete.What is the problem? If I click edit it gives me a shady or charcoal looking screen and doesnt do anything. If I click the back button it just asks me if I want to stay on the page or leave the page. I am unable to write any new hubs...

Here we go again...EDIT not working!
To the powers that be at HP: this is getting OLD. What's the point of a writing site that won't let you edit, let alone publish, your work????? Seems to happen only on the weekends, and I'm 100% sure it IS NOT on my end. No Windows updates pending, cache has been emptied, system...

Isolated issue editing Hub content
Everything has been working beautifully today until now. Suddenly, I'm back to being unable to edit a hub. I created it, but I cannot add content. Any thoughts?
