Site Update

   We had a brief period of down time this morning while we deployed an update to the site.  Apologies for any inconvenience that may have caused.   There were a few significant changes, and as usual a lot of little things.  Some of the bigger changes are:
   
   - The amazon capsule interface has been significantly improved (it should be a lot less confusing now).   In addition, if you select individual products you can now add your own description to them.   You can also choose to display a numbered list of products, for instance "the top 5 gardening books".
   
   - In the comments capsule you can now choose to order your comments in reverse chronological order.  This means that if you are limiting the display to 20,50 or 100 comments you can choose to display the most recent, or the first 20, 50, or 100.
   
   - In the RSS capsule you can now limit the text that is displayed to the first sentence, or a brief summary.  This should help in situations where the RSS feed includes the full text of the article.
   
   Please let us know if you notice any problems.

      I can remember when you came to our office and suggested adding the ability to write descriptions, plus other changes.  One of our new engineers, Fawntia, did the work.  I'm glad it's out there.  It's definitely much simpler to use now.
      
      I celebrated the amazon capsule update with a new Hub today:)

   Paul E, I remember that too, and I'm glad it made it up the to-do list.  Speaking of which, "add product descriptions" just went to the top of MY HubPages to-do list...LOL
   
   I really think this fall and holiday season the Hub authors are going to see better performance from their Amazon capsules.

   I noticed some problems with the site, and heaped all blame and curses upon my desktop box and my ISP. 
   
   Apologies to them both (thank goodness I didn't call my ISP's customer support), and I'm very much looking forward to playing with the Amazon tweaks.  Cool changes!

    I haven't made a hub since the improvments, and let me tell you I LOVE the amazon capsule improvements. I've always wanted to be able to do descriptions. It makes distinguishing different game consoles when the picture is the same. Anyway love the improvments!
