I've just started a new daily blog about living in France.  http://myuneditedlifeinfrance.blogspot. … rning.html It will record the delights and frustrations of being a foreigner in a France.

Apart from recording my own experiences I would like to publish other people's experiences.  To start with I am aiming for one guest writer every fortnight.

If you are also a foreigner living in France and want to share your experience (good or bad) I would like to hear from you.  Please email me with your article (250 to 350 words) you can include a link to your main site or your HubPage and  a link to your profile.

    Great idea Princessa smile

Living overseas isn't always the dream you hope it to be. It's amazing what you can miss from 'home' or what trips you up. Good luck with it smile

Thank you.  I am hoping to portray both the good and the bad.  Most of my hubs about France just portray the things I love about it but to be honest there are plenty of things that are more difficult, more expensive and more exasperating in France.

What do you miss from "home"?

My three children. I miss them a great deal.

But I didn't mean to sound a misery. I actually miss very little. I've adapted well to the Portuguese way of life. A conversation in my own language is probably the thing I miss the most, after my kids smile

I should write more about living here. I do, to be fair, have a lot of fun and some of the things that happen are really quite funny. Mostly to do with the language barrier or my frequent trips to the floor trying to walk on the Portuguese pavements.

And the fact that it's soooooo easy to add a few pounds due to their habit of eating ... a lot. And don't get me started on the cakes and pastries big_smile

I will surely read whatever either of you write about your lives and experiences in Europe. It will be like traveling there without the hassel of flights and ships. Much success to you both. smile

hi princessa, I don't live there, but did visit one summer and wrote a hub about being an american in paris for the first time.
if you're looking for expats only, I don't fit that category, but I definitely saw differences while there, and mostly for me, it was the fluent spoken French was much harder to understand!

I would enjoy spending more time there, it really is beautiful.
I look forward to reading your blog. smile

Oh god France, I stayed at a friends cognac distillery for a short while, and spent a lot of time travelling around it.

Lack of a decent pint, and really odd opening hours are probably the worst things in France.
