typo keywords

   A little trick I have heard can prove very successful is to use commonly used typos for a topic you wish to write to. Hubby and I have been buying a bit of gear quite a lot lately, all different sorts, and I figured I should write about it. He has been driving me nuts about these things so why not try to earn a bit from it instead of just spending lots of money haha. I had a play with the google keyword thingy and for the obvious keywords there is way to much organic competition but one keyword caught my eye. It was basically two words with no space (a common typo) and the organic competition is less then half a million hits so I should stand a good chance of ranking for it.
   I am wondering if in the writing of it can I write without making the typo in the keyword and have the proper terms still work as keyword hit in the text? If I have to forget to hit the space bar between words a few times that is probably going to be a real effort

      I am back at work, my ankle is healed up enough now
      Its funny but I have more ideas about what to write when I am out standing by the road waiting for kids I can help cross the road
      Only prob is that I don't have the time to write it when I am supposed to be working
      
      I have been seeing those amazon sales happening and got the second tier % so am pretty excited. It's fun to see sales starting to take off

   I try to include typos as tags for the same reason and I'm sure it helps a bit, but google does recognise most typos and only includes a couple of listings and then the 'did you mean...' thing. Also, in the adwords keyword tool make sure your selecting 'exact match' rather than broad match to find them, otherwise the traffic figure it gives you might be for the main keyword rather than just the typo. Good luck with it and let us know in the forum if you get loads of new traffic!

      I did not think about exact for match type but just did and the traffic still looks good In the regular search it doesn't actually say did you mean... which I did think of because I always hit the did you mean link when I search so assume most people probably do. If google doesn't bother to ask then I figure I might have a good one, folks might just find my article through a typo keyword Sounds like google will accept the keyword in the text with or without the space no problem, so I don't have to make deliberate typos. I make enough on accident

   As a Brit, I also try and remember to use the American spelling of a word as well as the British one in the tags. As this is mainly an American site, it's amazing how much it can affect Hub views. Or if there is a different word entirely - such as we say holiday and Americans use the word vacation.
