big_smile Never received an EMAIL like that, but I can explain their reasoning. They are most likely not a U.S. citizen, but they have a lot of cash. They think they can bribe YOU into becoming their wife so they can have citizenship.

I used to work at a casino and there was an older Chinese man who always paid a lot of attention to me. One day, he approached my window and said, "I will give you 7,000 dollars to marry me." Of course, I had no idea what to say. Since my job prohibit that I be rude to the customers, I simply laughed and said, "Aww, how sweet. But I'd have to get to know you a lot better before I accepted a marriage proposal." My supervisor said I handled the situation perfectly and I thought that was the end of it.

The NEXT day, he returned and said, "My name is Henry. I am 46 years old. I am from China. I have 2 children. I have good job. I want to marry you and I will give you 9,000 dollars to be my wife." This took me aback a bit, as I had not expected him to continue pursuing me. Again, I gave him the most polite answer I could muster. I told him he was very sweet, but I just wasn't ready to get married.

For 3 weeks, Henry continued coming to my window. Each night his money offer got a bit bigger. I think, at the end, he was offering me $20,000, which he actually was holding in his hands when he asked me to marry him. Thankfully, our security personnel had been watching him at the tables and realized he was counting cards. They banned him from our casino and I only saw him one more time after that, he was getting in his car to drive away as I left work to go home.

Crazy, I know, but some foreigners will do just about anything to get citizenship in the U.S. or any other country they feel they may be able to improve their life's quality in. Funny thing is, I sometimes wonder exactly how much cash I could have gotten out of him lol

Any somewhat long posts are great for hubs. Because, when you write the hub, you elaborate on the topic at hand. So, it makes for a good size hub. smile

            Just a thought. smile
