The difference between Ocean and Sea is only the size of the body of water in which you refer to.
If it's a certain amount or distance, then it's a sea. Anything larger would be an Ocean.
A vast body of water would be classified as an Ocean.
An ocean is a large body of salt water, and it can be made up of several seas, so I guess it is about hierarchy.
Oceans are Much more dangerous than seas.
I've been on both always within 2 or 3 thousand feet of land
Unfortunately it was Strait Down lol
I have heard a body of water that was the size of an 'ocean' be referred to as the open sea...
But I would call it an ocean!
I am truly enjoying the answers with different reasons, please keep them coming and Good Morning!

I can see the ocean LOL
question; what quantity of water would it take to consider this to be named a pond?

Can zombies swim? What with the threat of zombies these days, I just had to wonder if you could escape a zombie attack by jumping into a large body of water.
