Traffic Exchange Sites

   What do people think of traffic exchange services (like trafficG)? Does it actually bring you high quality visitors that are interested in your content? Does it actually increase click through revenue? What about their link exchange and directory services?
   
   Seems like Google may penalize your site for doing something like this. Has anybody tried out these services?

   I know a couple of people who have been banned from Adsense because they have used a traffic exchange.  They are against the Google TOS.   So if you want to use Adsense on HP or any other site, steer clear!

   The worst thing about it is that none of these people knew they were doing wrong.  They signed up for the traffic exchange quite innocently and there was no warning of the risk.  I nearly got caught with a couple recently - they looked like blog directories to me, and it was only when I had signed up and got deeper into the site that I discovered the surf-for-credit feature.

      Yeah I agree most newbies go in trouble. They do it wrong but there is no excuse actually because they don`t even know what they are doing. And I am not trying to be mean, but this is the reason Google and all the other advertising companies suggest it`s users to read the TOS before even staring placing their ads.
      
      Is anyone going to develop a 'keylogger' software if they don`t even know what that is? Just an example.

   I think it will be really helpful to have some warnings up on these services in the HubPages help section. Maybe also a warning on not sending in too many links at once to social bookmarking sites. These are probably common mistakes made by many new members.

      Tell me about it!  It's not just a problem for Hubbers, though, it applies to everyone who writes online.  I suppose that's why HP doesn't see it as their responsibility to educate everyone.

   Of course google would ban the publishers that use these sites.Traffic exchange sites are nothing more than a pile of garbage. All those users are paid or credited for visiting other member`s sites, now do you call that quality Traffic?
   
   Never used them actually they are also time consuming.  I think the best way to get quality traffic is to do some keyword research. I recently bought a new software, cause all the free ones are useless more or less.
   
   Another way to bring in traffic is to socialize.
