The ip address has always been on hubs, in the comments.  Only the author and the hub team can see them.

Then I would guess that you do have something strange going on.

I just checked the hubs of some others, and could not see them, but could see them on my hubs.

The IP address has been there for the longest time now. You are the only one who can see the IP addresses for those who leave comments, including your own comments.

No one outside you(the moderator/author) can see them. smile

isn't the ip address what hackers use to gain access to others computers?

I don't think so because the IP is just a description of a general area where the computer is and the service provider, but then again I could be wrong.

Yes a hacker could attack your PC using your IP address IF you have no firewall, have not kept your pc's software patched and your software has major holes.

A good firewall will not keep any unneeded ports open. If you have good security i wouldn't worry about anyone seeing your IP address.

BTW a IP is the exact location on the internet of your PC, the same way a phone number routes calls to your phone. or a mailing address a letter to your home.

You are right, many times your IP may be far from your actual location. My sister did acquire a stalker once and he found her through her IP address...scary!!
