View Source - Internet Explorer

   I'm trying to add a menu to one of my hubs by getting the 'reference' of each module - I used to do this by using 'view source' and then scrolling down the HTML to the relevant section.
   
   However, it seems that 'view source' has been turned off for Hubpages (I check on my browser and can do this for other websites).
   
   Is there any way to get this reference without using the 'view source'?

   I'm running Firefox and "view source" works just fine here.

      I found a way around it in IE7 - save file as a HTML file locally - load up the local file in IE7 and then you are able to view source!

   There is no way a web site can block "View Source".
   
   When you look at the source code you are viewing the HTML /  XHTML/ XML, CSS,  JavaScript and Ajax code that makes up the web page that your computer has already downloaded.
   
   View Source just makes it easier for you to view it, otherwise you would have to dig through temporary internet folders for the right file to view the code.

      It's strange that I can do this on every other page, but not on Hubpages - I'll try at home on IE8 and clear my caches etc!
      
      As I mentioned, I was able to save a copy of the HTML locally and view the source of that....

   I can't view source on HP either and I'm also using IE7. I wondered if I might have to log out? Not sure why it happens but it defnitely does.

      IE anything = your problem LOL .....IE sucks
      Try Firefox or Google Chrome
      
      In Chrome its very easy to "View Source" or even right click on a element "Inspect Element" and go straight to that code in the source.

         LOL yep - I have those at home - it's just our 'enterprise' insists on sticking with IE!

            Yes that is typical for many companies and you have my heart felt condolences.
            
            IE6 is so bad many webmasters recently held a mock burial for it, hoping it would die for good. If only it was that easy.

            Thankfully Google and others are finally dropping support for IE6 and many companies will be forced to finally upgrade.

      LOL well it looks like it's a quirk of IE7 - now of course some do not consider it a browser...I cannot repeat what they actually think of it!

   I'm in the same boat Simon - I'm use my husbands work laptop at home and I have no choice on browsers, otherwise I'd be using firefox for sure. I tried IE8 and it completely messed up my system, so I uninstalled it and went back to IE7. I can also view source on any other webpage - it's just HP? Odd, but true, lol

      Strangely it works at home on IE8 - so must be some strange settings on my work laptop!!!

    I have just updated to ie8 a couple of weeks ago and just clicked on view, source and there it was no problems
    
    I didnt try to copy it though.
