In this particular forum (only) it's OK to post a link to one or two of your hubs.

Sunshiney, I picked three of your hubs to look at.

Each of us come to HubPages for various reasons and sometimes those reasons even change once we get here.  So, I'm not asking this to judge you.  I just want you to think about it.

Why do you write?  Is it simply to express yourself? Are you here to make money?  Are you hoping to land a writing job?

Depending on your answers, it could affect how you write.

I find your hubs to be excrutiatingly short.  They resemble poems or blog entries.  Hubs are intended to be articles similar to what you'd find in a newspaper or magazine, although you will find lots of poetry hubs here too.

I think you have more ability than you're showing us.  I think you have got some great beginnings to hubs that just need a bit more fleshing out.  Strive for around 500 words and see how you like it.  It gets easier with practice.

    Good luck to you!

KCC Bigcountry...I don'y write to make money or for the hopes of landing a job, although both would be nice.Basically I write just to express myself.I guess more than anything this is practice for me.Thank you very much for your feedback and I will work on writting longer hubs.....The thought does scare me a little though smile

As busy as you are with your family, I don't see how you have any time, but I admire your desire to practice. The great thing about HubPages is that you can always go back and add to your hubs.  It can all be saved or reworked. Do what you can, read other hubs, and keep learning. It is not wasted and it might lead to something more in the future.
Good luck.I think you have some things to say. smile
You have a good score already-- it is not important, it just sometimes gives you an idea of where you are heading.

That's why I asked, because my advice would be different for someone with different goals.

HubPages is a great place to express yourself.  Don't let the length scare you.  You can do it.  Just practice when you have time.

I work full-time and have a family who rely heavily on me, so I do understand.

I read your Got Milk? Hub because the title caught my eye. It's a great title! It taps on the dairy advertising campaign (which everyone in America knows and remembers) and also tells the searcher / reader that you are talking about breastfeeding. When I first saw the title, I had this immediate image of an infant with that milk mustache on the upper lip, it cracked me up, and it made me want to read.

With such a great title, such a great promise of both entertaining and useful information, I left disappointed for several reasons.

I had to struggle with your typos and digressions from formal grammar; for example, each time I hit a "your" that should have been "you're", I wanted to quit reading. I persevered only because you asked for advice about your writing.

Having had an unsuccessful experience with breastfeeding, I wanted you to tell me where I can go for more information if your very good advice in this Hub does not help me. This is an opportunity for you to link to help groups and other resources. Other Hubbers can tell you the value of linking to reputable sites outside HubPages.

KCC asked good questions about your purpose, and I echo Rochelle Frank's admiration for your desire to get out here with your thoughts and words. Both have good advice for you. You have six children, I have one. OMG, do I admire you!

I'm looking forward to enjoying your presence here.

So I read and re read what I wrote I see no typo's ,but thanks anyways...By the way the information I gave is very useful and I have had some really good feedback from actual nursing women who have used the advise given.I'm sorry it was a let down for you and that you wanted to stop reading it...but I admire your honesty....

Just a note...sometimes it is hard to see your own typing mistakes...having someone else look at it gives you a fresh pair of eyes:)  I liked you hubs:)
