Miraculous Cancer Cured - II

    IN continuation of my forum topic which narrated my wife's miracle cure,  I would like to tie some loose ends.

    God's ways are strange.  My friend (Q) has opined that it was madness to conclude that God gave a carcinogenic tumour to my wife as a way of getting to an athiest like me.

    God can think up elaborate schemes to accomplish what he wants to accomplish.  WE may look askance at him but there it is. Read the following passage, please;

    Isaiah 58: 8, 9
    "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
    For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

    So, what is special about me that he should go to such great lengths?  I am nothing I know but please read the following passage:

    Luke 15:7
       "I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance."

    I was a sinner (still am in my own ways, for sure) whom God choose to reform is what my conclusion is!

    Some earthly explanations here;
    1.Shakespeare in Hamlet:
    "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
    Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

    2. Have you happened to read Alistair McLean plots?
    In Where Eagles Dare, for example, the plot looks so convoluted and utterly implausible but when the seriousness of the impending doom sinks in, it is no more so. And, you realize man will go to any length to achieve his goal. (A thoroughly enjoyable book, like all McLean books are and a superb movie adaptation with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood, incidentally)

    Why can't God do the same?

      While I doubt that you were an atheist, I'll certainly give you the benefit of the doubt.

      In other words, magic reigns supreme over all, your god can do anything he wants as "god works in mysterious ways." Yes, that would be the typical religious response to any phenomena not requiring a shred of evidence.

      Quite simply, there is no consistency, rationale or reasoning to your claim that a god did such a thing as we can produce boatloads of contradictory evidence to a gods purported works.

      For example, why would a god bother to pluck out a cancerous tumor (there is still no evidence to suggest it was a tumor) and then allow tens of thousands of children to starve to death every day. He never saves a single one of them, they all die horribly.

      Notice a seriously and obvious contradiction here?

      Why can't God do the same ?

      Because  God is not a novelist.
      Or maybe he is ?
      Wait ! Some people think the Bible was dictated to Man by God. LOL!

      And what's special about you ??
      Nothing !
      Why would a God wanted to take the trouble to give your wife a cancer in order to make you believe ?
      Can't you see how ridiculous that sounds ?

      Well, maybe this God's a novelist after all, and you're one of the characters in his book ! lol

        their god may not be but this guy certainly is pretending to be one - this made up b*****t story is on another thread. It is clearly written by him or some other overly imaginative uneducated writer - pure fantasy.

        That it is a christian trying to pass this crud off on us is no surprise at all.

            I fear very little in life - is why I have been out and about in the fresh air.  And I have been exceptionally blessed, I got blessed through hard work, questioning and seeking out new experiences and new understandings - not dropped on me by your god, and not by writing fiction, yet.

              That is the beauty of it all.
              Even when you do not believe in him, God comes to your help.

              Thanks for following this thread

                In other words, even if the starving children of the world DO or DO NOT believe in a god, he'll still find ways NOT to feed them?
