The debate on Health care has made me despise ideologies even more than I used to. Because National Health Systems were labelled socialist by right wing ideologues fifty or sixty years ago a whole country is without decent and affordable healthcare.

The US spends twice as much on health care per capita as the next most expensive health system in the world yet is so far down the list of all the important health stats that even impoverished countries like Croatia do better.

The sight of people fighting to preserve a system that leaves so many without adequate care and hastens the deaths of ten of thousands was pretty distasteful.

Forgot the idiotic half baked ideological systems and arrange a society that works.

    HUBBERS

The sad part of what took place in congress was that our elected officials did not live up to their oath of office to defend the constitution.
The process exposed the corruption of our elected officials and the majority party in governing our great nation.

The checks and balances in our constitution was radically ignored by the president and the congress.

President Abraham Lincoln once said '' to remain silent is to be a coward ''.
The passage of the healthcare bill if signed by president Obama as predicted will surely divide our country.
The final results will be in when the Supreme Court reviews the process and violations of the constitution.

The beginning of the end for some of our elected officials will come. 60% of the people rejected the bill in it's present form.

Obama sensibly ran the whole of congress through the health bill from when Hillary Clinton was given the task of producing it. You lose.

"And people who work for you should listen to what you tell them you do or do not want, right?"

Yes-we the people voted Obama in--stop trying to derail him!

Absolutely maniacally deranged behavior coming from Right-Wing political leaders.
Lies, lies and more lies....what has happened to you? Is it THAT hard to take a defeat? Are you THAT used to having it all your way, you can't humble yourselves a litttle to other people's wishes?

Who died and made all of you god? Sheeeeeesh.

"He's one of them muslims!" He's not an American citizen" ain't gonna cut it anymore guys.
The man is strong, calm, sensible and nothing resembling any of the stereotypes, labels or just plain lies you heap on him.

He got you lot to grow up. The rest can stop pretending they gave a rat's arm about the most vulnerable amongst you.
      gutless.

To allow dignity of life is a sign of strength not of weakness.

Oh, so violating the Constitution, declaring that he doesn't give a damn about "the rules," openly committing bribery and using gangster tactics to force a law on the country when the people don't want it is 'growing up?' Or do you mean that 'growing up' is agreeing with you?

        Either way  roll

      "Yes"

Ok, then when the people who work for us knew that the majority of us didn't want this stupid bill they should have listened to us, right 'bud'? Or did you forget already, 'bud'?

Are you saying that the American people should sit down, shut up, and meekly obey our 'leader'? Is that the kind of country you want? If so, you'll need to look elsewhere because that is not the kind of country we are, 'bud,' and I sure as hell don't work for you and neither do the majority of Americans who clearly oppossed this mess.

That's the kind of country we're used to under "I am the Decider", and "Go F yourself".
There's a new sheriff in town now.

He tried to include you, tried to reason, tried to be bi-partisan. What'd it get him?
    A big fat middle finger.

Be careful when you want to go down the "gangsterism" road...don't forget who shot their friend in the face. Don't forget who refused to testify before Congress.
And don't forget who was in chgarge of NORAD on a fateful morning in 2001.

You really really don't want to go there.

Just saw on the news....1400 new patients able to be seen in a Rhode Island clinic today. Effective immediately: Children with pre-existing conditions will no longer be denied coverage.

Halleluya....why did it have to be like pulling teeth?
    Repubs and Blue-Dogs.....the helloutta here!

They could've done that without racking up another trillion dollar bill and adding thirteen more bureaucracies.

It would have been more responsible to do one feature at a time without all the backroom deals and arm twisting.  Get the ones we can agree on out of the way.

Since I just read your hub about "Gang Stalking", I will try to be especially civil with you, however, I really don't see how a 2700 page bill which is mostly about new bureaucracies and  special interest is, as you said in your hub, "fiscally responsible" with "less bureaucracy" .

Helping sick kids doesn't take a trillion dollars, and if congress didn't put all that pork in there (I know, republicans did pork too, all legislation is pork driven) there may even have been more money for sick kids.

In spite of their rhetoric to the contrary, I don't believe the Chicago mob really has the kids' best interest at heart. Using those kids to score political points is exploitative and irresponsible.  Evidently this is the behavior of "more evolved" people, and I guess I'm just too close to neantrathal to "get" why that's compassionate.

If you truly believe that the current administration is, indeed fiscally responsible and less intrusive, then, of course, I see why you support it.  Since I don't believe those things, I'm sure you can see why I don't support it.

However, advocating a "new sheriff" when you claim to despise, on principle, the attitude of "I am the Decider", and "Go F yourself" is a bit disingenuous.

If this is your position, the only difference between you and your despised "W" is that you get to be the one who says "Go F yourself".

One tyrant or another, each claiming to be screwing us for our own good.  I don't see a difference. Democrat politicians want to screw us fast and get it over with so they can make us forget it before they screw us again, Republican politicians want to screw us slow and pretend its love making.

      Either way, we're screwed.

So you are actually saying that is the kind of country you want? Really?

Well tough $*!# because that's not the kind you've got, and if you ever acted that way you have no one to blame but yourself. November's not too far away and a lot of these arrogant SOBs will be taken to the wood shed. Then in 2012 obama and his filthy band of gangsters will slink back to Chicago where they belong.

"He tried to include you, tried to reason, tried to be bi-partisan."

That's a flat-out lie. The dems cooked all this up in secret meetings and behind locked doors then offered oh-so-graciously to allow the opposition to either agree to everything the dems, led by the gangster in chief, wanted or to STFU and go away. No reason, no inclusion, no bipartisanship.

If wishes were horses, dreamers would ride.
The Repubs had 8 years to do something about healthcare, they chose no to.
We had to suffer all their policies which benefitted 5% of the population over the rest of the 95.
And we had to watch them get away with multiple provable crimes.
Where were you? Enjoying yourself immensely no doubt.

But now, oh boo hoo--you have to suffer more people getting a part of the "American Dream"....healthcare for their families.
    Oh what a BURDEN.

It's so long since we've been human, we've forgotten how.

And it's the haters that will be taken to the woodshed. Mark MY words. They will regret their spiteful behavior. Grow Up.

"You know, when I made a series of overtures to the Republicans — going over to meet with both Republican caucuses; you know, putting three Republicans in my Cabinet, something that is unprecedented; making sure that they were invited here to the White House to talk about the economic recovery plan — all those were not designed simply to get some short-term votes," Obama said. "They were designed to try to build up some trust over time.  And I think that as I continue to make these overtures, over time hopefully that will be reciprocated."

Gates, and Ray LaHood. Gregg turned it down. And wasn't there a recent one too? I think there was.
And what did he just say yesterday?
"This was not a victory for one party, but a victory for all America."

    How have the Repubs responded?
It's embarrasing. Honestly, I can't watch them...they are so out of touch with reality.
They are not the majority, nor are the Blue Dogs.
Most people want women to have free choice, not be told "You will have that baby by order of the State."
Most people do not want children to suffer due to lack of healthcare.
Most people do not want hate to be our national virtue.

Get over it or get out of the way.
    Your time is ovah.
    lovemychris sees all.

It doesn't work that way here, despite what kind of dictatorship you might be dreaming of. Get used to hearing from the majority of your fellow citizens whether you like it or not. As for November, we certainly will see.
