This is rediculous!  Seriously, Adsense has got to get a real life.  It isn't only this hubs but some others and I have started putting a poll up asking if the ads are related to the material presented in the hub.  Sexy Russian Girls is on my Choosing a Sewing Machine and Learning How To Sew.

Happens to me too. I'll look once and they're there. A few minutes later the ads match my hub. It's never happened to me on any other site but hubpages. I'm getting annoyed because some of my hubs are about homeshooling preschool and I have hot tamil girl adverts. Looks extremely unprofessional.

But you don't have any hubs.

she pulled all of her hubs in disgust over the poor ad targeting.

which IS unique to hubpages ...its the HP share of impressions that is somehow perverted by all the content on the entire HP site instead of immediately targeting our individual content.

I dont really seem to have issues myself but I cant think of any other reason why dating and hot tamil and various bollywood ads would appear on iPad and PC content. On fresh sites with low content one may get PSA ads and google ads at first - never seen sexy desi aunties and the like until publishing here

Yep, it's definitly unique to HP.

And whilst I'm not saying they should, I'm guessing that HP themselves blocking these type of ads from their impressions would be the only way to stop this.

      Lady Guinevere,

You've raised similar concerns before, and we always give you the same answer: AdSense reverts to "generic" ads on pages that don't get much traffic.  Once a hub has a decent amount of visitors, they will target ads.  However, if traffic slows again, they may revert to generic ads again.

Lady Guinevereposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Yes I know this Maddie, BUT the fact remains that they should not be putting those kinds of ads on the sites that don't have anything to do with them.  My site is not slow by any means either so that washes that reasoning out.  I don't mean to be rude.  Those who vist out sites who don't know what we do will not come back and those who are on a homeschool site will think not so highly of her work nor of hubpages.  Respect for the viewer.  How can we let Google Adsense know that we disapprove of these actions?  I believe some others here want to know this too.

Add the advertising site URL into competitive ad filter list.

On other hand, I think adsense is into recession so allowing bids from adult sites these days. Lol.

You all may laugh all you want but guess what the people who read the lady who has the homeschooling hub thinks when that comes up on their screen.  What kind of impression does that give the parents?  Do you even care?  You all are rediculous and silly.  We may know that it will change if we press refresh, but the readers may not.

But why don't you do what skyfire said instead of taking offense at the laughter.

It is an ad put on our hubs by Google adsense.  I don't think it would matter what it is as we don't have control over what ads google puts on our sites only that we can filter them, but I have already done that.  Put your foot in our shoes and see how you would feel.

I feel bad about it myself.

My hubs are full of various dating site ads even though they have nothing to do with dating. They are not sex ads, but still they don't belong there.

We as hubbers have no say in this. neutral

My recent hub about the development of grammar in Mandarin Chinese had an ad on how to meet exciting Asian women on it. I had to laugh. Clearly, anybody interested in the ad couldn't be interested in the hub.

I thought that Yield Build would have prevented this from happening. Actually I'm losing a lot of money due to non relevant ads. Even on my top performer hubs.

  8. hypnodude profile image60
    hypnodudeposted 14 years ago

Probably it's because there are many sexy desi aunties hubs. Which are of awful quality but are good for the site as they drive a lot of traffic. And people looking for those hubs are probably more apt to click on those ads. And we all know that clicks means money. Maybe I should start to write sexy hubs too.
Anyway since those ads lower the quality of the site they should be banned, and if I'm right if someone doesn't want those ads can block them, right?

  9. hypnodude profile image60
    hypnodudeposted 14 years ago

I didn't read any hub from JeanMeriam, but it is a really bad thing that someone leaves in this way and for this reason. Someone should do something.

You can block categories too.  I have blocked sex, but not sexual health.  I have also blocked dating.

If you have problems in knowing how to filter, here is a hub to help:
