How accurate is analytics exactly? For instance i have a fast food hub about why fast food is bad for you and would have thought it has good info. But then i go to analytics and see people search with keywords asking why fast food is bad for you, and they spend no time at all on my hub. Or they ask for the fast food nation book summery which is what i did, and they spend no time on my hub. First of all its hard to believe they spent no time at all on my hub. I mean that would imply they didnt even check what the hub was about. But then why didnt they stay to read what the hub had to say? I get that quite a lot too. And then i get searches for topics i dont even have hubs about, but people spend time on my hubs. How do you explain this? Thanks.

Analytics is pretty accurate!  Never underestimate the public's short attention span.

To make your content more "sticky," so that people hang out a little longer, try breaking down long paragraphs, making sentences short and punchy, use bullet lists - all the basic journalism tricks!

The easier it is to read, the more likely it is that people will take the time to do so.

On the upside, it's possible that a person who doesn't stay is leaving via the ads at the top of your Hub .

Check whether the Hubs that people don't linger on, are getting Adsense clicks.  If they are, stop worrying!  Having people stop and read your carefully written content is good for the ego, but remember what you're here for.

This is correct a click on an Adsense ad will report a page view time of zero. However the visitor could have been on the page for some time, they might have read the page and watched a video before they leave via an Adsense click. But because of the timestamp problem the time will still be reported as zero.

As far as clicks go i am still only getting clicks on my tennis babe hubs which is like 2 c for 5 clicks roll So that is not the explanation.

Google Analytics calculates time on a page by comparing timestamps between consecutive page views.  So the time spent on a page is the difference between the timestamp the visitor arrived at page 1 compared to the timestamp the visitor viewed page 2. If the visitor bounces there is no second timestamp to make a comparison with and the time on page is reported as zero. The same problem can occur if the visitor closes the window or the page is abandoned and Google’s session times out.

The reason you see unrelated keywords in your analytics is because these are the keywords that were originally used by the searcher to find HubPages. The page they first landed on might be completely unrelated to yours but somehow they have navigated through links on HubPages and landed on your page. In this instance the keyword reported in your analytics will be their original search term.

Ok this makes more sense i guess. Maybe they read my page but never went to another page after that.

As for the keywords im still not sure what you mean because my page doesnt necessarily have any info pertaining to their keyword. Yet they still stick around.

Although your hub might not contain the keywords or be related to them in any way, visitors were interested enough to click on a link that took them to your hub and might stick around. Could even be via a comment you left on a forum that took them to your profile page and then on to one of your hubs.
