Diablo 3 Get the Black Soulstone

Updated on May 28, 2012

Diablo 3 Get the Black Soulstone

In Diablo 3, the hero is almost within reach of the Black Soulstone. All he has to do now is to find the archives of Zoltun Kulle and explore them and then retrieve the body of Zoltun Kulle. With the body, blood and head of Kulle, the reunification of these physical parts of Kulle with his spirit and the resurrection of Kulle is imminent. This will provide a synopsis of the hero's journey through the archives of Zoltun Kulle and includes a trip through the Unknown Depths and the Storm Halls to unlock the shadow locks. The hero will then head into the Realm of Shadow and get Zoltun's Kulle's body. Finally, the Soulstone Chamber is opened and the hero can enter to get the black soulstone.

Diablo 3 Open the Unknown Depths Shadow Lock

The terminus is the hub of the Archives of Zoltun Kulle. Leah will arrive at this locale to facilitate the resurrection of Zoltun Kulle and the retrieval of the Black Soulstone. From the terminus three paths branch out. Head onto the path that leads to the Unknown Depths.

The monsters within the Unknown Depths area can be fairly overwhelming, especially since they attack in waves and typically surround the hero. The key here is to use guerrilla attacks - attack the monsters using mass area spells, run out and then return and attack with mass area spells again. Defeat the monsters and collect as much magical treasures as possible. Eventually the hero will reach the Unknown Depths Shadow Lock. Unlock the Shadow Lock and prepare to enter the Storm Halls.

Return to the terminus and enter the Storm Halls. The Storm Halls are like the Unknown Depths, except the route to opening the shadow lock is different. Defeat the monsters and proceed to the shadow lock. Open it and then return to the terminus.

With the two shadow locks unlocked, it's time for the hero to enter the Realm of Shadow to collect Kulle's body. Head in and defeat the monsters on-route to finding Kulle's body. Head out into the terminus and allow Leah to resurrect Zoltun Kulle. Fully restored to human form, Kulle wants to fulfill the bargain between the hero and Kulle. He leads the hero and follower to the Soulstone Chamber....... and not surprisingly betrays the hero. To get the black soulstone, the hero has to put down Zoltun Kulle.
