Yes if i the guy had no children yet and still wanted one and he understood the risks i would be taking and was wiling to share equally all the diaper changing and feedings and taking care of that child equally as they grew up.
i'm 47 and we just found out last week that my wife is pregnant so i guess my answer is yes.
I would have to say, No. unless you dont have any children. then that's a whole different topic. Fortunately I have 3 teenagers (16,18,19, & I am 41). And I would not want to go thru some of those stages all over again. Just to be the last person standing... I am divorced. There will be differences in parenting tactic's, discipline(s). Once you see your mate/spouse/partner in their "parental habitat" you maybe seeing a different side of them than your use too. And that may not be as attractive as you though they once were?
As Tina Turner once sang..."..what's love got to do with it...?" I recommend getting a puppy first, then see who is the one who follows up on the Vet. appts. shots, license, who remembers to stop and get the food, who takes the time to teach them, potty train. when to sit, when to bark. the list is endless... Then rethink having a child after 40....
For women, it's generally inadvisable, there are a lot more risks. However, a lot will depend on her reproductive health, which only her doctor can assess. I personally know a 50-year-old woman who delivered perfectly healthy twins last year, so it can happen. Adopting kids would still be on the table for me over 40 . Men -- absolutely, why not? Many times older men make the best dads, because by then most of them have outgrown immaturity and are ready to give attention to their kids. Then again, I am possibly biased on that count -- my husband is 51, and our daughter is eight months old. She is my second, and his sixth.
only is it is your first. I am almost 42 w a 3,5 and 7 yo. I also have a 22, 20 and 16 yo and I am tired! Wish I hadn't taken the 9 year hiatus between kids lol. Parenting is hard w the various age differences and personalties. It is harder on my body.I am sure a first time Mom wouldn't be as tired or stressed out. My brain doesn't know which way to go, imagine dealing w a 3 yo and then a 16 yo w his issues, emotional pull is an understatement. Also, society is different w what you can and shouldn't do w punishing your child. Computers, social networks and a million other things that weren't around w my 1st three. As for a man, only if it's his first also, it seems when a man starts a second family, the first family gets put on the back burner because haeven forbid if his first bunch of kids should over shadow the new wife or baby. Seen it first hand numerous times and I 'm sure women who remarry, have more kids also exhibit this behavio if the ex has custody of their children.
No.I would not have a baby over 40! Baby at 39 was my last lol. All 6 do have the same father, we are married , which is rare where we are from.

It's true.. I don't care how much you deny it but if you have more than one child, you have a favourite child. Yes you will utterly deny it if someone asked you who your favourite kid was. Hell I bet the majority of you that will reply to the post will say "oh I love my kids all the...

Is it possible to love all your children equally? Can you love one more than the rest?I have noticed in many families that the last child is the one that is loved so much.

I am currently a SAHM and really value this role and the opportunity to invest in my children. My three children are all 5 and under, so I thought this was THE most important time to stay home with them. When this phase was over, I was thinking of going back to teaching. (I was an...
