Are there any negative side effects to vaping (e-cigs)?
I have switched from smoking cigarettes to vaping (smoking electronic cigarettes) and feel so much better for it. I stopped coughing, my breathing is back to normal, and my energy level has gone up a 100%. So far I have not been able to find any negative side effects to vaping. Does anyone know of any negative side effects to vaping either from personal experience or from research?
Hi there, my boyfriend recently made the switch, and he is enjoying it so far. I believe the only harmful/addictive agent in yeh cigs is the nicotine, so if that can be reduced or eliminated to vapour only, then I don't believe there are any other issues. However, as with most things, only time will tell!
Yes, their are, but compared to real cigarettes, its basically a lollipop.
Studies have shown that just repeatedly inhaling warm air is bad for you, and we still haven't properly tested the long term effects of liquid nicotine in the lungs, but the fact is, its far better that people are using e-cigs than real cigarettes, the tar is removed, most of the poisons are gone, sure, nicotine in itself is still bad, but its worlds apart and if e-cigs are your best way to avoid real cigarettes, then best of luck to you.
The only worry I have for e-cigs is them being a gateway for youths, I am 17, and I have tried a few things in my time, but something I noticed back in highschool is that many kids would smoke e-cigs, as they are completely legal for under 18's. But assuming that we can get e-cigs banned for under 18's, unless prescribed by a doctor to assist in quitting, then they are a wonderful idea.
Good luck.
Just so you know, a lot of vapers (myself, for instance) vape only nicotine-free (or as some say, 0 nic) e-liquids. It seems to be fairly common.
Well, nicotine is obviously not that good for you considering how addictive it is. However, a lot of vapers vape products that are nicotine-free. Apart from the optional nicotine, the health effects haven't yet been fully studied. From what I've read, some tests show that e-liquid contains some potentially harmful substances but at very low doses (1/1000 of cigarette smoke). I'm curious to see what researchers will discover with in the future.
Random note: My husband and I tried two brands, and both of them had such short-lived battery life that it wasn't cost effective.
May I ask which brands? I've been very happy with the battery life of mine, so if I ever get another some day I want to make sure it's equally good.
I'm looking at the brand reviews and don't see them. Apparently they didn't make the top 10 list. I do remember one started with e… like e-something.

Are there any downsides to using electronic cigarettes to quit smoking?I've tried everything else. Now I plan on purchasing an E-cig (though not that brand) to help me quit. Are there any downsides to using these? Are they any worse for me than the cigarettes I'm already smoking?

To those who smoke, have you tried quitting? What are the ways that you use to quit smoking?I'm trying to understand how smokers have been trying to quit their habit of smoking. I used to smoke myself, but I simply went cold turkey and have tried a technique to change my mindset about smoking. This...
