      As many people died due t swin flu it is one of the dangarous disease now.
      the death rate can be reduce by spreading awareness among people.

   Thanks for posting the site.  My son's best friends girlfriend was just diagnosed a couple days ago. She's at home by herself and her baby is being  cared for by her mother.  They live about 50 miles west of St. Louis.

      Raggits, Swine Flu during pregnancy is every parents worry, especially to the mother at present.Somehow I don't trust what the Government's tell us, as to how bad things are.
      
      My best friend signed up for her local obstetrician's newsletter and has found many of her articles on pregnancy in general very helpful.
      
      There are two or three Swine Flu articles well worth readng.

   A warning that the swine flu vaccine has been linked to a deadly nerve disease has been sent by the UK Government to senior neurologists in a confidential letter.
   
   The letter from the Health Protection Agency, the official body that oversees public health, was leaked to The Daily Mail, leading to demands to know why the information has not been given to the public before the vaccination of millions of people, including children, begins.
   
   It tells the neurologists that they must be alert for an increase in a brain disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), which could be triggered by the vaccine. GBS attacks the lining of the nerves, causing paralysis and inability to breathe, and can be fatal.
   
   The letter refers to the use of a similar swine flu vaccine in the United States in 1976 when:
   
   More people died from the vaccination than from swine flu
   The vaccine may have increased the risk of contracting GBS by eight times
   The vaccine was withdrawn after just ten weeks when the link with GBS became clear
   The U.S. Government was forced to pay out millions of dollars to those affected
   Concerns have already been raised that the new vaccine has not been sufficiently tested and that the effects, especially on children, are unknown.

   Swine flu seems to be a very popular topic now. I made a hub about swine flu. You can look at a map to see what region you are in and then see the percent of people affected with the virus in that area. I don't think I'm allowed to post a link here, but it's not too hard to find at my profile page. Thanks for the link.

   Its like any immunization.  I for one won't get it, if it were to come available, not enough information or studies out on it yet.  What I've read on the CDC is that it will mostly be made available to the elderly and children who suffer from asthma, etc.  A normal healthy person will most likely not need it.  Many H1N1 cases are being reported as very mild, while others are similar to what Blondepoet had.
   
   My daughter is at a large University & they are closely watching the students.  They have no plans to cancel classes, but have an emergency plan if there was an out break.  They are cautioning students that if they have the flu & live near campus, to go home to recuperate.  (Sure, bring it home to us - joking.)
   
   Some larger Universities have put a policy in place that if 30% of the student are out with the flu - H1N1 or other, that they will suspend classes, students will not be penalized for missing school/papers/test, etc.
