it used to be 8-10 glasses in a day. But that's actually not enough. Recently, studies show that the body needs 2L-4L of water within 24 hours. It makes sense because you pee for how many times a day each time 300-500 ml and you sweat which is basically 100-200ml each day, and you talk, breath which removes 250-300ml of water from your system each day and when you defecate you actually remove 00-150ml of water from your body. There's a lot of ways to lose water and you need So you need to replenish those by drinking lots of water.
It depends on your activities - more in hot weather and if you're exercising.
As long as you're peeing reasonable quanities of pale-coloured urine, your body is well hydrated and you're drinking enough.
