Are you diabetic, is so and you want to excercise to help control glucose level?
I suggest meter reading befre and after. Moderate, even light exercise is best, so you don't over do or get frustrated by the effort and slow results. Any lowering of blood sugar level is good for me since mine tends to rise and peak in the early evening. When I feel the most tired is when my glucose is highest. After 30 minutes on the treadmill at 4 mph I find normally an 80 point dcrease. Thats good for me, trying to stay under 180 but 160 is recommended.
Yes, I have diabetes and I exercise regularly. I would train with weights 4 times per week, walk and use exercise bike. Blood glucose levels are lowest in the morning.
running and cycling are good for a better decrease in blood sugar, usually for at least 20 or 30 minutes, but longer runs help stabilize the level better and longer. I find its best to raise the heartreat and breathing, for some extended period. Check glucose before and after exercise to see how effective. After two or three years of this I find my use of blood sugar is probably much better, making it easier to lower it. I'm also finding that not waiting for a high reading, but exercising before I expect it to be up, usually anytime in the afternoon for me.
