Have you ever been at the receiving end of a scam?
Have you ever lost money or had any negative experience with someone trying to scam and cheat you
Yes, many times. It's everywhere, online, in text messages or over the phone. But I know better, I can smell a scam 20meters away.
Yes I was scammed once on elance for $180 I learnt from that and now only accept jobs where escrow is funded
I was scammed by a so called publisher for my book, he tricked me and many others, luckily we sorted it out.
Now am extremely careful when it comes to scams I can tell them a mile off...
Yes, someone from Craigslist offered me a job with a company they did not even represent. I contacted the company directly and this is how I found out it was a rip off.. It was a total scam so watch out for this.
Also bought a camera from ebay once (long time ago) and the person did not deliver.
Scam artists are rampant, especially on the internet so be very careful. It seems that if it seems too good to be true, it usually isn't!
I've been on the receiving end of people trying to scam me, but I can't remember getting scammed, knock on wood. On the other hand, I've had an identity stolen. Someone got our information, ran up a phone bill in our name and took off. We only caught it when we saw our credit report a couple years later.
Yes, a lot in my internet experience. But, only once when I respond to the scam till the end. Fortunately, I reviewed the website and I get some review that it is a scam.
I think that if someone is trying to rip people off through email, they should at least get the spelling and grammar correct.
When I was a kid, I loaned a classmate a quarter. And when I asked for it back the next day, she said that I had not given her any quarter. Lost a quarter. But hey, back then a quarter is worth much more than it is now.
Yes once and online where I lost the equivalent of about 100$. I never paid for any online money making scheme again.
