   For a local unaesthetic I have never had my blood pressure taken...even though my heart is pounding!
   
   But that isn't to say that if you have a blood pressure problem that it could be a good idea to tell them first what (if any) medication you are taking.

   Well, as dental professionals we are supposed to take it at every appointment; go over medical and dental history; palpitate for extraoral and intraoral cancers, etc.  Definitely take BP before administering injections.  Does it happen in the real world?  Sometimes, with good dentists and hygienists who have been properly trained.  If they don't do these things for you, I'd seek greener pastures elsewhere.

   Yes.  I asked about it once and they told me that dentists are being encouraged to take BP at each visit since some patients don't normally see an M.D. on a regular basis and the patient may have no idea they have high BP.

   I have had many dental visits and I have never even heard of this mentioned before. Naturally our blood pressure is apt to be up some but it sounds like a good idea in case someones is way up and needs that BP lowered before their procedure.

    They should monitor your vitals throughout the procedure.
