Depends first of all on the physical condition and lifestyle of the person taking the supplement. In general though, people that are not suffering from some sort of digestive problem should get their nutrients from food intake. Furthermore, increasingly reports are showing that vitamins can have adverse effects on otherwise healthy people.
Filtered Water + Locally Grown Organics + Balanced Diet + Exercise = Shouldnt need vitamins period.
