Wild Salmon is one of the best protein and omega 3 sources. Try to avoid the farmed kind.
I agree. Wild caught salmon is the best. Farm raised salmon can be high in PCBs as well as have an altered Omega profile due to the feed used, and the living conditions can also introduce disease which I believe some operations now combat with antibiotics in the feed/water [not unlike conventional raised beef at this point].
Talapia is a good alternative to Salmon and it is only about one third the price. It only contains about 1/10 the Omega 3, and 1/3 the Omega 6, but less fat and more protein per serving. Just food for thought, but make sure what ever fish you by try and get wild caught.
