I have never heard this, but I did read that cinnamon helps to slow down the digestion of carbohydrates. After I found this out I started adding some to my oatmeal. Maybe this is also how it works as an appetite suppressant.
actually Cinnamon is in the same family as Cayanne pepper fruit; it works by increasing circulation; which can increase your heart rate there by helping the body burn more calories. Increasing the heart rate (as caffeine does) can decrease appetite

Gee, I don't know about this one. But the answer you got from wfmommies seems like she is on to something. I think I will try it. I have heard that if you take a little viniger mixed in 1/2 glass of watter every morning, it too will cut your appitite.
