    What tests are needed to diagnose one with post traumatic stress disorder?

    I can't stleep at night and  little things that happen, or are said bring back traumatizing memories. I panic and break down when I hear certain songs or smells.  If I see someone that resembles my father in either shape, height, build, I freeze.  I have bad anxiety attacks when any of this happens or if I am in a small closed in area.  The pains in my chest cause numbness in my arms and hands and my whole arm has a dull ache.
    I think I have PTSD but I am not diagnosed.

    There are no tests per-se. Being evaluated by a qualified, experienced counselor is the way to go. As someone who is, your assessment seems reasonable to me. Read some of my Hubs on the topic of PTSD, they should help.
