What helps you sleep when you're having insomnia?
I love to do these kinds of research. Here is Hub I wrote about all the tips that I have found: http://blissfulwriter.hubpages.com/hub/ … p-Insomnia
I use a blindfold. I noticed when I turn out the lights I don't close my eyes for a long while. I like how the blindfold feels against my eyes and somehow soothes me.
I listen to music and what works for me is music by Enya only. Songs include Only Time, Only If and Caribbean Blue etc.
I read before that to aid sleeping, you can listen to music but you gotta make sure it is music without lyrics. If the music contains clear and loud lyrics, the words will cause your mind to become active as your mind links the lyrics to your memory.
I find getting out of bed, walking around for a little, getting a drink and doing some deep breathing helps. The breathing helps me to relax but I do normal breathing once I get back into bed, for me trying to concentrate on deep breathing whilst in bed just makes the insomnia stay around.
Insomnia is so prevalent I wrote a series of hubs about it. Here they are and hope they help!
