Has anyone ever bought eye glasses online?
Any tips or advice is appreciated. Looking to save a few bucks!
I haven't yet but I have heard good things from friends of mine who only buy eyeglasses online. Seems it is quite economical compared to what you get in the store.
If you wear a simple prescription, it might be possible. However, if you wear progressive lenses, bifocals or trifocals, like I wear, I would want the fitting and placement of the various lenses be done using my head as a guide. When your glasses contain multiple lenses on each side, the placement of them becomes very important. Some people who wear bifocals, want the lens in the middle of the overall lens, I need to have mind move closer to my nose. People with serious eye problems or complicated vision issues should avoid the mail order route.
People seem to do well with mail order contacts. I cannot wear contacts, so I have no personal experience with that type of vision aid.
I have. I had to buy prescription safety glasses for work.. You need to trial fill out the online form so you can see if the lenses, frames and options you want will work together. The order form will not let you proceed if things aren't compatible. A local retail chain wanted 600.00 for what I needed / wanted. I used VS safety eye wear and got them for 325.00. If you need progressives (I did) they will send you the frames and someone will need to measure where your pupils are normally within the frames. Send them back and wait for them to return. I was able to purchase Polarized, transitions, anti scratch, anti fog and anti glare for that price. I will do it again. The waiting is the downfall but I am very happy with the glasses.

The pros and cons of glasses vs. contacts?I wear glasses, and I've always been weary of wearing contacts. I've heard stories about contacts rolling to the back of eyes and drying out while napping, etc.
