Make it Happen or Let it Be?

Are you one who is more likely to 'make it happen' or one who is more inclined to 'let it be'? If you want, go further into the question by answering why are you inclined one way or the other. Have you seen changes in how you feel about this, over your lifetime?

Longer answers and hubs as answers are great.

I think I do some of both, but it depends on the circumstances. If it's something I feel strongly about, or if it's something I believe I have a possibility of influencing or changing something, of if it's something I feel I need to do for myself, then I'll do what I can to make it happen.

If it's something I little or no possibility of changing, SOmethihg I don't feel strongly about, or something that sounds like I should keep my nose out of, then I'll let it be.

Reminds me of the prayer of Saint Francis of Assissi and the song of John Lennon, 'Let it Be.' Have you noticed a change in this, over your life? I was a go-getter once, a make it happen person. My life philosophy changed. Is it that or just maturing?

Yes, I used to try and make things happen and never let things go. I drove myself crazy.

I have spent four decades trying to make it happen, but have come to a point in my life that I realize letting it be is a better path for my sanity - the world is as it is - I am learning to accept it.
