What is your favorite scar?
You can find a lot of information about someone when you ask them this simple question, “What is your favorite scar?”
That's kind of an unusual question. Because I'm wierd, I will say Scar from The Lion King. Or the one around my pinkie finger where doctors had to sew it back on when I cut it off at age three.
I got it sliced off in a wooden screen door of all things. I don't know how much of it actually came off, but the scar is about 3/4 of an inch down from the tip of my finger now. All I really remember about it was that I got to ride in a police car!
It is interesting what we remember when we are in the middle of trauma.
I have two little scars on my left hand. They are barely visable anymore, but they have been with me since I was just tiny. I have no idea where they came from but I am so used to seeing them.
I have a scar on my arm with a birth mark on either side. It looks like a division sign. The funny thing is that I love working with numbers and I have a degree in Finance, so it was like it was meant to be that I have a mathematical symbol on my arm! I got the scar from a rabbit scratch when I was a child.
I have a scar on my right foot close to ankle where they pumped the blood I lost that saved my life, I often touch the scar when I am distressed to remember my second chance in life and suddenly I feel much more calm ready to withstand the blows of everyday life.....
None of my scars are favorite.
Although when I was four I fell on a fire place poker and it cut my wrist.
It looks like a little bug.
I was pretending the hearth was a stage and I fell right on the thing you stoke the flames with.
Of the few that I have, one sticks out as my favorite. I got it while practicing parkour.
I was attempting to Kong vault over this box some of the guys in my club had made, and I didn't get my knee up high enough. It smashed against the corner of the box and rolled the skin back, exposing the bone. I'll never forget the looks on everyone's faces as they noticed the gash before I did.
I actually did an interview with someone from our local newspaper before going to the hospital. I got seven stitches and a nice "smiley face" on my knee to remind me of the whole event.
