    How do people live longer?

In this time and age, people seem to die in such an early age. I wonder how do old people or adults, live a longer life than those people of today.

As we progress, we are actually regressing. Meaning man polluting the world with so many toxins out of greed. Greed is what is killing.

Thank you for your answer. Greed can kill and we see it all around us. I guess there are more things that kill and Greed is one of them.

Thank you for giving us the main factors of living a healthy and long life. These are quite known to us, but reminding us is needed.

There is a 100-year-old Singaporean woman who appeared on Singapore TV recently. She's waiting for her son who had gone missing when he was 70 and that's what's been keeping her alive. Our guess, however, is that her son had passed away when she was told that her son had gone missing. And I guess that's her secret of living up to a 100. Sometimes, we ought not to be too intelligent. Ignorance has its positive side, LOL.

Thank you for you answer. I think I have read that story somewhere. But yes, love and ignorance could probably make us live longer than most.

Don't think people did live linger - i think people are living longer these days than they did of yore. There are countless opportunities to live a longer younger life now- better nutrition better medical knowledge ,  better health care for most of us- the list goes on, so with succeeding generations we must become healthier and have a longer life expectancy.

Of course poverty rears its ugly head, even in so called civilised societies, and poverty is insidious and grinding and only understood by those unfortunate enough to have experienced it first hand - no one else could really understand unless they'd been through it themselves. Poverty shortens life I'm convinced, because with poverty comes worry and stress and hunger and  cheap bad food - and so eventually an earlier death than would otherwise have been- miserable but true I think

      Hi Pauline,
Poverty is a curse of mankind.  It is certainly one of the main contributory factors for having a short .  This is most true especially living in big cities.

Thank you for your answer. I guess people just die and it didn't matter what's their age, well, you're right, people before probably died younger than most of us now.
