   I haven't personally.  I play the piano though and my son has Autism.  Unfortunately, I would love to get him enrolled in music therapy but there is only one therapist and he is over 1 hour away.  He only takes state insurance as well and won't take private insurance.  Makes no sense.

   Craftytothecore - it's difficult for music therapists to be accepted under insurance plans bc most don't consider music a real therapy. I'm board certified but not able to accept insurance. There is only one music therapist in my area that I know of with some insurance coverage.

      That's a shame.  I had a similar experience with Horses Healing Humans.  My insurance plan won't cover that because they think it's holistic and no scientific reason to prove otherwise even though many Autistic people have benefited.

      I can't believe the horse therapy has no scientific proof! Muscles are forced to work correctly, an emotional trusting bond is formed, etc. Ugh, sounds like they just don't want to pay. I hate how it's a struggle to get these people what they NEED!
