What has been your best achievement in your life?
I have had many struggles in my personal life, but I have found peace and happiness throughout all of my difficulties. My best achievement is that I have survived and overcome addiction, I have found inner peace, I have started a family, I have made tremendous friendships, and I am living a great life filled with love and have begun following the path I was always supposed to travel. Today, I am living the dream, and trying hard to accomplish everything I have ever wanted. I am writing. I am working. I am a mom. That is my achievement (and I hope to have many more), what is yours?
The ability to express myself through writing to help cope with sadness and tragedy such as the premature death of my mother 23 years ago at the age of 50, the unexpected and tragic suicide of my father 4 years ago at the train station down from my sister's block and finding out our son's diagnosis of autism and epilepsy.
I also express joy and happiness in my writings of when I first met my wife and witnessing her give birth to our son.
The ability to express my personal struggle of transgender and my realization at age 51 to start my journey of transitioning from male to female and become the girl I have been longing to be since the age of 4.
You've managed a lot, you should be proud. I think my crowning achievement was deciding to live life authentically, it's brought great things ever since. I stopped working a corporate hotel job I hated and took a risk. From there my life seemed to stop being what everyone told me I "should" do and want, and it transformed. I ended up divorcing and then remarrying the right man for me. I started working for myself on my own terms. I have two great children who I've been able to be here for. I bought the old "money pit" house I always wanted and enjoy fixing it up (most of the time lol) I think accomplishments come when we give up living everyone else's ideas and start living our own - even if we face some disapproval.
I ended war, eliminated hunger throughout the world, and offered the means for everyone to be disease free and healthy.... oh wait! That's stuff on my to do list for tomorrow. Where's that geni in a bottle...
I would say surviving my childhood, raising two wonderful daughters and being married to my best friend for 43 years.
