The dream wall. It's a list of everything I've ever wanted to accomplish. The red lines through the dreams show what I've achieved. When being down, I see them and believe I can get through almost anything.

Here is the passage I meditate on most often.  Works for me.

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
    Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit."

Sometimes we just have to ask the reason behind why we are down. Did we expect too much from another and was disappointed? Did we let someone have too much control over us and our life? Who's approval were we seeking.....someone else's or our own? Can we be appreciative of the accomplishments that we have achieved? Can we overcome the thing that has sidetracked us and regain focus on the things we want to achieve? Do I have doubts about myself? Do I truly believe every thing that someone says about me? Do I really know who I am? If, I made a mistake....does the mistake rule me....or, do I have the power within myself to choose not to make that mistake again? Do I see things clearly, or am I looking through rose colored glasses? The truth indeed sets one free!

When I need encouragement I usually remind myself that a situation could be much worse. Although honoring your pain will help you push through it, being able to put an issue in perspective will shape gratitude.

I pray and depend on God and his promise of a brighter day. No matter how bad things get, God's will, will be done.
