    I'm sure he does. The same way a parent would do that for their kid. Also, I'm sure he would say no because he has something better in mind for you.

    Absoluetly!  Quite often actually I believe.  Having been through brain surgery and drasically altering my family's life, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has answered prayers made for my own selfish reasons with a resounding no.  Many say that God answers all prayers, and I believe this as well, it is just that sometimes the answer is "No."  As the other poster wrote, just as I do with my own child, God does with me, and while she can REALLLYthrow a fit (as can I if I am being honest), if it is not in her best interest I will still say, "no," just as thankfully god does for me.
