What makes fanatical & fundamentalist Christians have a MORBID, even OBSESSIVE fascination
with hell, even going so far to create hell conspiracies & tales which some of them claimed to have "visited" hell, the devil, & the so-called damned?
It's not an obsession or a fascination. It's just that we Christians believe in our hearts that hell exists and that we're all destined there unless we except the free gift of salvation that accepting Jesus brings. I don't want to say that those who claim to have seen it are lying because you never know. What if they were right? With God anything is possible. Even if they were lying, hell still exists. What a lot of people don't understand is that we're here for only a spec of time compared to eternity. We need to think ahead and look at the big picture. Keep our eyes on the prize. Fame and money and worldly stuff are just not worth it. Not in the long run.
Again all people who make the claims of being christians have different understandings,
Many have been fooled to think that God the Father would burn his creations, not the truth, not so, this a man made doctrine followed by tradition rather then scriptural proof.
In the old testement God the Father protested against false worship to gods.
These gods people worshiped required human sacrifice of children, Moʹlech was this god.
But Jehovah the true God made his stand that he was disturbed about this situation.
Jer 32:35 Furthermore, they built the high places of Baʹal in the Valley of the Son of Hinʹnom, in order to make their sons and their daughters pass through the fire to Moʹlech, something that I had not commanded them and that had never come into my heart to do such a detestable thing, causing Judah to sin.’
God the Father never thought or even entertained the idea in his heart to burn any human as you have read here.
So Why Believe Humans Over THE WORD OF God the Father.
Mans belief is developed from imperfect written translations that are not right.
Eternal torment by the creator. I don't believe in this hell-fire stuff, it is inconsistent with a loving creator to torment anyone eternally. Those that are not willing to follow and obey come the time of reckoning will be subjected to an eternal 'cutting off', death itself.
Kissand Tales has it right....
My goodness! Would the answer be FEAR? Fear and an extraordinary imagination. Hell is a state of mind; a state where darkness reigns and light has been dimmed. A geographical location it is not.
A 'damned person' frequenting the hellish playgrounds of thoughts has believed a myriad of untruths about themselves. Cleansing the mind of garbage is an inside job; often with the help of a good therapist!

Christian Parents, would you allow your children to play with children of different religions? If your neighbor were Muslim or Jewish, would you be okay if your children went over and played with their children? Would it make a difference if they were pagan or atheist?

I would assume there are places in the world where one may not have ever seen, or heard of the Bible. Or perhaps they may have heard of it but can not or are not allowed to have access to it. And perhaps they have not had any exposure to the teachings in the Bible. So how do these...

Something I must get off my chest, and I hope this is the appropriate forum...I recently read a hub by a gay man, who is uneasy because his homophobe radar isn't working as well as it used to...He does specifically reference fundamentalist Christians as possible/probably homophobes. This is...
