I think with the pandemic, our families have got together.
Our parents who was always busy, have time to spend with us.
Families are having a happy time.
I think COVID-19 has helped us in a way.

Tell that to the families who have lost loved ones, to those who have lost their livelihoods, to those in isolation and to the ones in comas.

      Yep, happy times sad

Absolutely. I've needed a break from work and society for years; especially from the toxic environment of my job. It's been a blessing to be perfectly honest. My only anxiety is returning to the horrible normal that everyone seems to be longing for.

You're reading my mind. I couldn't have said it better myself.

I agree with raggededge, COVID-19 has been a disaster for most people, especially here in the US where over a million have been sickened, more than 100,000 people have died, 40 million people are unemployed and lines at food pantries stretch for miles.  No happy time here.

In a strange way, covid19 did help me out financially.  Prior to the pandemic I was living paycheck to paycheck with little to no hope of ever finding another job.   Then I got furloughed and got scared about my future.     My unemployment was delayed because they screwed up my paperwork work so I was literally having to live off whatever little money I had in my savings and credit cards.

However, I was able to find a new job that offers way more money and I've been happier ever since as I'm making way more money than I ever had in years past with a bright future ahead of me for the first time in years so I guess you can say I'm one of the few that this year has been somewhat of a blessing in disguise.

Edit:. Granted I still think this year has been horrible overall for most people in the USA and across the world.  And honestly I wish my newfound success didn't have to come to me like this but it is what it is.  I do pray everyone continues to remain safe during these hard times.

The suicide rate has gone up, some say as high as 60%.  Divorce rate has gone up. People are getting drunk more and smoking more. Child abuse has gone up with parents who do not know how to handle their kids. I can see how it has been good for a few, but a disaster for the US as a whole.  Many are running scared with the Covid19, riots, and threats to defund the police.  It is all signs of the time of the end.

I gained 10 pounds and developed a day drinking habit. Yeah, good times. Pfffft.

Perhaps the situation in your country isn't serious, but in many countries it is. You need to explore the situation in other parts of the world if you haven’t already done so. Conditions are the opposite of “happy” in many places, as other people have mentioned in this thread. It’s good that you are experiencing some happiness during the pandemic, but the death and suffering that has occurred and is occurring as a result of COVID-19 mustn’t be ignored.

Just wanted to pipe in to let everyone know that with a little nuanced thinking, it can be seen that a situation can have at least two, possibly conflicting, aspects to it. You know, maybe as an example, let's just say, hypothetically, you have to kill someone who is trying to murder your family. Oh, wow, one good thing and one bad thing happened in a bad situation! You saved your family but had to commit murder.

    My God.

I apologize if I've done something that made you angry or feel bad about me. And I know that most of the people are suffering because of the pandemic. I did not mean to say that I'm happy about this situation. But now parents are much more closer to their children. Personally my parents lived a busy life. They had really a small time to spend with us. But now it's not the same, my parents have time for me and my sister.

If have said something wrong, I'm really sorry!

    I'll pray everyday!!!!

    Stay strong!

I can’t speak for other people, but I’m certainly not angry. I am concerned about the current situation in some places, though. I think the problem is that some people living in areas where the pandemic is more serious than in your country have a different perspective about the effects of the virus and are worried.

The new closeness in your family sounds wonderful. I hope things continue to go well for you and your family. Thank you for the prayers and the message at the end of your post!

Eventually.  It's been pretty sweet for the most part. However, being an introvert, and living in my natural habitat for too long, I don't really know how well my return to society will go.  Not excited about it.   I just miss traveling.  Which is wild because I just said we needed a break from traveling 6 months ago.

    Hey
I think that Covid has helped a lot of people at least in the United States to slow down and a lot.  I noticed many of my neighbors starting to do yard work, walk their dogs, and many other great activities that I've rarely seen in our community.  It's sad but true Covid 19 did have a silver lining!  smile
