druid if ya dont know what it is ya sure can't answer..:-)
Very good. Now would you please... STATE SOMETHING NOT SO OBVIOUS? And uh...no one seems to be answering, so I'm the only one interested at this point.
Druid...dehydroepiandrosterone...ok would ya take it?
lol...tell me why ya would or wouldn't.
C'mon all us older guys should know about ths stuff. I take it.
...druid...go to google and look it up.
Many of us older guys are taking it for a very good reason.
Where are all the older guys?
Older than who? Didn't you see my forum post about me and Dick Nixon? You addressed this to older dudes, suggesting, in fact that you are younger. If it has anything to do with bigger, fatter body parts, I've never found the need. Not having a hard time? Then it could be a hair thing. Sorry. Got my granddaddies hair, thin, but still covering w/o combovers. Still the only nibble on this fishline. WHAT does it do?
Druid:
Lol if you couldnt understand the wikipedia idea of it, then I'm sorry to tell ya ya'd never understand what it is and why we "older" guys who are into the physical aspects of getting old, use it.
Go to google and type in: dehydroepiandrosterone.
If ya can't understand what it's for then, there is no hope for you.
Just being honest....:-)
Sorry that was for john Holden.
Well, never having heard of it before I had a look at wikipedia, the only bit I could understand was the sentence that said
"In practice, there is currently no scientific reason to prescribe DHEA for any purpose whatsoever."
I'll go back to not having heard of it.
Nope, I never take anything at all for,,,, anything. People are too pill dependent. Advil for a headache, that's it.
I took those blue pills before just to see what they do. Took a full big dose, did not do anything I already could do.
However it did give me a pounding headache.
...I've tried the "blue pills" too ...terrible headache and a 6 hr erection.. I couldn't enjoy 'fun."...lol
Figures. QWARK must be so old he nows takes stuff simply cause it's there. And he still hasn't clarified his age, while suggesting that he is "older". Not that it really matters. Can't tell me what it's SUPPOSED to do, while acting like it's some kinda STATE secret. Pretty immature for a grownup.
Hahahaha...I've mentioned my age so much Druid, in these forums, that it leads me to believe you have trouble with memory..try some DHEA...lolo
http://www.webmd.com/diet/dhea-supplements
no, sir, i wouldn't use the stuff. isn't that obvious?
You should know. It was already explained on this forum already, and im merely answering the original post. therefore, whats your deal? who are you? the guy that's like the ceo of the company that makes it or something? Or some salesman of dhea? what gives? why do you care?
...whew! I just posted a site for druid taht rtells ya what DHEA is used for..
I know, google is just too damned hard to bring up....or to go to an address bar and post the site...then click...tch tch
OK - I went and looked it up and would have no idea why it is such a secret issue. I notice it is involved with Cortisol which is only interesting because it came up in some research about 'anime' involving learners of second language (anything relly I guess) where shame, through being unable to speak, being put 'below' the teacher, affects cortisol which affects our ability to reason, and so prevents us learning.
If it has any affect on hormone cycles to keep us old guys horny to the end it would get my vote, I can see that by the time I am 90 I may be slowing down a bit and anything that gets it out there will be a help for pulling me up the stairs I guess.
..there's nothing secret about DHEA. It's been on the market for years. It is a precursor of testosterone. As a man ages, his testosterone levels drop. DHEA assist the body in aging men to produce it. If you don't know why testosterone is so valuable to aging men then ya gotta do some more study.
Oh I do know - I even have my own answer for this that proveably works, I have Sukie, keeping up with a young completely feminine woman, keeps my testosterone bubbling to the point where my hair is proveably growing back in bald places The second course of medication will come with the planned baby
Do you use it, qwark?
I started about a month ago and I can tell a subtle difference for the better. My workouts are a little more effective, and my energy is up slightly. I also take amino acid caps. I've been doing aminos for years.
I have no idea why men over 40 wouldn't consider taking it. I've read nothing about side effects or long-term use to discourage using it. If anyone knows better than I about this, please lead us to some info.
...I have a close friend who is a biochemist. he is a powerlifter as I am.
He told me about DHEA about 15 yrs ago.
I've been using it and have increased my dosage to 100mg's.
I've had my testosterone level checked by him and it is almost normal. He does that for me in his office. He's a doctors, doctor.
I use creatine and DHEA and at well over 60 at about 190 bodyweight, I workout with weights used by guys half my age.
My body hasn't dissipated and most take me for being 10 -15 yrs younger than I am.
Oh yes, the stuff works.
My friend the biochemist weighs 150 and is benching 315 2 reps.
He's a little powerhouse and he's in his late 50's.
I don't Know What's Wrong with you Guys?
In NZ we don't generally have a need for any of that sort of stuff
Other than Amputation NZ men have all been cured of that inactivity problem now for 3 Years.
Ever since it became compulsory to enter into the Bi-Annual NZ Solo 3 Legged Race that runs between Auckland and Willieton; kiwi men have learned to stand straight and last the distance!
Mind you the Long and Short of it is a side effect in guess
That it's REALLY HARD to get 3 matching Nike running shoes here!
No, I don't feel the need! I seldom have to lift large women!
"You older guys, would you take DHEA?"
This stuff is available at your local health food store.
Do not take unless you have a compliant woman available.
...read the posts....yup...sounds like there could be sumthin' missin'.....it could be lonely out there...err...'up'.....
I'm gonna be on a trip for the next few weeks...so I won't be online...ttya'll later. Qwark

by funmontrealgirl 13 years ago
Why do we like older guys? More than security. I don't like guys my age and have not dad issues.
by Ms Lawretta Ayodeji 15 years ago
I am currently seeing someone who is fifteen years older than me, he is single and well educated. is it OK for me to date a 42years old guy or is he too old?
by choiceessentials 15 years ago
Of late, there seems to have a surge of older women with younger guys. Is there any thing wrong with that?Should the couple fear how others look at them? What is the acceptable age gap?Your views??
by LadyTwizzelton 9 years ago
So if older men can date and marry younger girls why is it that it is now okay for older women and younger guys to date/marry?Is it just a quick flame? Or a interesting conquest? What is in it for the younger guy especially if this is his first marriage and he can't have kids with this "older...
