    I just broke one of my back teeth! Was munching on some crisps (potato chips for my american friends) so can't say they were hard or anything. It doesn't hurt so hopefully if it takes a bit to get a dentist organized it should be OK.

    Ever had  a broken tooth?

    I have had one more, when I was a kid I landed on my front teeth, hurt like hell.

      You need to stop thinking about google and grinding your teeth.  big_smile

      The most I've ever done is chip a couple, but a good dentist can fix 'em right up.

    Yep, had two. One I lost because of the way that it broke, the other I'm awaiting a verdict. Lost a small piece on an upper molar. It may be fillable, then a cap over the top. I hope this one doesn't go to the tooth fairy cemetary sad

    You're main problem is infection getting in. If that happens and it hits the nerves, you could end up with a dead root system. Hopefully you'll get sorted in plenty of time smile

    It's those olives that have gotten me, the one's where the pit did not get removed. Have had to learn to bite gingerly on an olive, with the front teeth.

    Sooo, who remembers the joys of being 8-12 (or whatever) and having all your teeth come out one by one? smile

    One tends to forget that.

    @kirstenblog. You shall overcome! smile

    Come to think of it, with today’s technology, how come we still haven’t figured out how to retrigger that process at will? Oh, now I remember; it would put all the dentists out of work. smile

    Well I had a lovely problem with computers last night so generally a fab day! roll

    Still no pain but very jagged. I need to get this sorted but think its going to take awhile, unless I go in for an emergency appointment and thats a all day job, meaning I would have to take a day off work (if it doesn't hurt why bother with all that). I make just enough that I have to fill out loads of paperwork to get a price in line with my income (NHS dental is a pain but better then what I had as a kid in the states - no dentist at all cause it was too expensive, bad teeth now).

    The tooth actually had a crack for ages. I had the dentist look at it when it happened and they kinda grunted, thats about it. I guess they figured it wasn't worth bothering with. The tooth is one with a big old filling so that might just be part of why it happened.

    Sorry to hear about your tooth.

    To answer your question, I have a couple chipped teeth from taking elbows in the chin playing basketball.  It is interesting to feel that hard little piece of tooth rolling around in your mouth til you spit it out and figure out what happened.

    Nothing ever has come of it, and I still have the two teeth that were affected many years ago.
