Welcome 2013!

2012 has been a wacky year full of laughter, tears, and weirdness. I am happy to say, it is basically over. We made it though another year. Some would say the year went by too quickly. For me, the year crawled by like a snail fighting to climb the top of an icy mountain... slow and painful. But now 2012 is over. Hooray!

Some of you might be skeptical about how 2013 can be a great year. After all, it has a 13 in it and some folks are superstitious about that number. I've always found the number of 13 has a good luck effect for me, so I am all about going into 2013 full force. You can be happy about the new year, too!

There were plenty of annoying aspects to 2012. We can wave all the little 2012 nuisances good bye. Let us embrace 2013 and let's take a moment to reflect on some reasons we should be happy 2012 is over.

The 2012 U.S. Presidential Election is Over

For better or worse, the 2012 Presidential Election is over. I don't care if you voted or not. I don't care whether you like President Obama or not. The election that just wouldn't die is really over now. No matter how you feel about the president and the election, let's just get over our differences and move on.

It is now time to simply shake hands and let's focus on getting this country back to being a great place to live. We all have our differences, but let us unite over one basic thing: let's be grateful all those annoying campaign commercials are finally gone! I think we can all agree those commercials, billboards and signs were ruining our lives. At least we don't have to worry about it again for another 4 years.

Jersey Shore Has Ended

All you Jersey Shore Haters can now be overjoyed about the end of an era (or error). The final Jersey Shore episode aired in December 2012. I am not just talking about the season finale... oh no, it was the series finale. For all you haters out there, I am sure you are excited about the end of the show. For those of us that actually enjoyed the show (myself included), we can just silently weep in a corner somewhere and pretend that show with JWoww and Snooki is a good enough replacement.

Have no fear my tacky reality show loving followers, the good news is Mob Wives is returning to VH1 in January 2013. Now we have something to look forward to for the new year, too! I can't wait to see what new fights break out and whose husband(s) end up going back to jail. Hooray!

The Apocalypse Didn't Happen

To all you Doomsday Preppers, December 21, 2012 must have been a big disappointment. The world did not explode or implode, and the zombies did not attack us. In 2012, the world managed to make it though another year. I did not even have to break out any baseball bats to beat down the zombies I thought might attack me on December 21st. Hey, it was a one in a million shot, but just imagine how much more exciting this hub would be if I had survived the Zombie Apocalypse!

Since the world did not end, it was a pretty great day for most us... although maybe not so fabulous for Doomsday Preppers and Last-Minute Shoppers. The Last-Minute Shoppers must have been really bummed out. They actually had to go out on December 22nd to buy Christmas presents after all.

No More Holiday Shopping For Months!

While we are on the subject, let us take a moment to rejoice that the worst of the holidays are over for now. At the end of each year, I like to reflect on how overjoyed I am that the Thanksgiving / Christmas / Holiday Season Nightmare is over. Sure, we can celebrate this same event at the end of every year (and I do), so this is not specific to 2012, but I still wanted to mention it anyway.

Let's all take a moment to celebrate the year that was 2012 and let's be happy that we never have to live through it again! Onward and upward, my friends! Welcome to 2013!
