I have realized something over the last few years when it comes to Father's Day and Mother's Day. It's more or less a choice and yet there are a lot of parents out there who think they deserve a huge reward ceremony for something most adults have been doing for years. I understand parenthood is not easy but if you chose to do it then maybe you should celebrate the parenthood itself rather than the gifts and pampering from you kids.
My parents felt that I owed them heavily for bringing me into this world when they were not good parents to begin with and none of it was my choice. I don't think they actually liked being parents.
I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this but I just wanted to get that out.

Where do your ancestors come from? My mother's side is Danish and my father's side mostly Scottish.

My wife (robin) asked me what I wanted for father's day. I said a slow cooked beef brisket with a texas bbq sauce. Not looking good for me:)
