    I don't understand the question?  It's a tradition that will always be around - because a New Year, new start and all that, celebrating living through another old year - will be a natural point for celebration.

    I agree with you Mark, but, up to me, it seems like it's loosing it's spirit and tradition is more and more forgotten. It's becoming more like habit than enjoying. I m afraid that New Year will lose it's meaning and i wonder does other people share my fears or not?

    I think as you get older it loses.. something.There's so much more to look forward to when you're young/er.
    However, I believe NYE will ALWAYS be a special time, just because its the eve of a new era!

    I believe that it does inevitably become less important as you get older but that's only on a personal level.

    If anything, I've watched as New Years Celebrations get bigger over the last 5 years so I can only believe that they will continue to get bigger.
